Child death investigation underway in Philadelphia's Germantown section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the death of a two-month-old baby girl in Philadelphia's Germantown section Tuesday.

Officers and medics were called to the 400 block of Mechanic Street at 7:45 a.m.

They rushed the infant to Einstein Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of her death and the circumstances surrounding it are still under investigation.
