Children unharmed after vehicle stolen outside NJ Wawa; suspect still sought

BRIDGETON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Bridgeton, Cumberland County, are searching for a suspect accused of stealing a car with two young children inside.

The incident happened on Tuesday around 1:20 a.m. at the Wawa in the 100 block of East Broad Street.

Police say the suspect got into an unlocked vehicle that was left running while a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old were still inside.

Officers were able to quickly locate the stolen car. Both children were found unharmed and safely returned.
