CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Cooper University Hospital is celebrating 10 years of the interactive educational program.
This Thursday, more than 100 kindergarten students from KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy took on the role of caregiver to treat their very own teddy bear patients.
Each child received a plush patient, in need of care.
The students treated the tiny bears for sore paws, earaches, torn fur, and other pretend ailments.
They were guided by physicians at Cooper, who helped show the kids what a typical hospital visit looks like.
The free program is designed to help young children feel more comfortable with hospitals, doctors, and medical procedures.
