MARPLE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- The sounds of snowblowers and shovels filled the air in Delaware County on Monday as more than a foot of heavy, wet snow fell in some spots.
"Caught myself a couple times trying to lift too much. So heads up on that, people," said David Reaver of Drexel Hill.
We talked to people digging out in Drexel Hill, where they got about 10 inches of snow.
While it was heavy, it was still easier to clean up than the last storm.
"I think it's wonderful that it's not half as bad as last time. It's much easier to clean up, and it's mostly melting," said Debra Ruggeri of Drexel Hill.
The heavy snow was too much for some trees and power lines. PECO reported outages across the area, including in Marple Township. Many homeowners had to rely on generators to keep their homes warm while crews worked to make repairs.
Jim Friel's Marple Township home was starting to get cold, so he was glad to see power crews hard at work. He knew there might be problems when the snow started sticking to branches and power lines.
