Animal abuse offender list bill to be signed into law in Delaware

A new law aimed at protecting animal rights is going on the books in Delaware.

Governor Matt Meyer is set to sign a bill into law Tuesday that would create an animal abuse offender list.

The list will be posted publicly by the Office of Animal Welfare.

It will include information about people who have been convicted of animal abuse.

The legislation bans shelters from approving pet adoptions for anyone on the offender list.
