DMV facility in Delaware reopens months after trooper's fatal shooting

MINQUADALE, Del. (WPVI) -- A DMV facility in Delaware has reopened nearly two and a half months after a state trooper was fatally shot inside.

The Karen L. Johnson DMV in Minqaudale opened its doors on Tuesday morning, taking customers by appointment only.

It was in that building, on December 23, that Corporal Matthew Ty Snook was killed while working an overtime shift.

Those who knew Corporal Snook say his memory lives on there.

"His presence will be missed, because he was such a great officer, he was, he was such a great officer. Today is a great day to continue to move on," said Kareema Crawford.

The 34-year-old trooper is credited with pushing an employee to safety before he was shot a second time.

Investigators say the shooter, Rahman Rose, was targeting law enforcement that day.

He was killed by responding officers.
