Eagles' Jalyx Hunt surprises Philly student with scholarship
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- An Eagles player known for delivering sacks is now granting scholarships at a Philadelphia high school.
Jalyx Hunt joined the roster in 2024 and recorded a big-game sack before becoming Super Bowl champion.
Today, he surprised students at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls with the news that he'd be funding scholarships for students in the present and future.
Little Flower has been an institution in Philadelphia since 1939.
The first student to be chosen for a scholarship, Laniah Brooks, will have tuition covered for her junior and senior year.
"I'm never letting this go," said Brooks.
Her father, Rodney, said it was one of the best days of his life.
"I'm a single dad," he said, noting that Laniah is his youngest. "My wife is no longer with us, so this really helps us."
The other two scholarships will be full four-year rides to incoming freshmen next year.
Finally, Hunt also established an endowment at the school.
Each scholarship and the endowment is named after a woman who made a difference in Hunt's life.
