Eagles mascot "Swoop" serves breakfast to students in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Eagles mascot "Swoop" surprised students at John F. Hartranft Elementary School Tuesday morning.

Swoop helped serve breakfast to the students in celebration of National School Breakfast Week.

Swoop led a dance party for the youngsters, while they enjoyed a nutritious breakfast, including yogurt parfaits and smoothies.

The event helped promote the importance of eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast in order to stay energized, focused, and ready to tackle the school day.

The School District of Philadelphia's school breakfast program works to reduce childhood hunger. The district serves more than 38,000 breakfast meals daily.
