EAST LANSDOWNE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Crossing guards in East Lansdowne, Delaware County, are now equipped with body cameras.

It comes a month after a violent assault on a crossing guard in Darby Boro.

In that incident, the attacker chased down the woman and knocked her unconscious in front of children outside of Walnut Street Elementary.

East Lansdowne police say the body cameras will ensure crossing guards have the tools they need and serve as a warning.

The borough's five crossing guards have been trained on how to use the cameras.
