Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, Pa. welcomes new baby muntjac

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, Pennsylvania, welcomed a very tiny new addition this week.

A male Reeves's muntjac was born, weighing in at just 2.2 pounds.

The tiny deer species is native to China and Taiwan.

Muntjacs are known as the "barking deer" because of the loud, dog-like alarm calls they make.

The baby and his mother, Violet, are already out on exhibit along the zoo's main path.
