Families ring in the new year early at the Please Touch Museum

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Please Touch Museum kicked off New Year's early.

They've hosted the daytime celebration for several years now, it's even become a tradition for families to attend.

"This is our fifth year coming, it's our annual thing to do to let the kids have fun, get out, have their own little ball drop before adults have their party later," explained Amanda Halls of South Philadelphia.

You don't have to wait until midnight to get the party started, the Please Touch Museum kicked things off bright and early Wednesday morning.

Organizers say the event is a safe place for families to ring in the New Year.

"We also have a wish wall kids can put their wishes inside of a tube and have their hopes and dreams fulfilled this year," noted Kristina Haye, the Senior Manager of Museum Events.

There's something for the entire family to enjoy.

"We're having a great time right - a lot of water play she is soaked," said Karlis Berzins of Mount Airy.

What's a New Year's party without a ball drop and confetti?

"When we had our first daughter we woke up at midnight with her to do it so this is nicer she can sleep through the night," said Ilyssa Wilson of Manayunk.

The event was sold out, so If you want to get ahead for next year check for tickets in early December.
