Hammonton man dies in fiery crash at AC Expressway toll plaza in Hamilton Twp.

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- One person has died after a fiery crash at the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza along the Atlantic City Expressway, in Hamilton Township, on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when a driver lost control of their vehicle, struck a toll booth, and the car caught fire.

Chopper 6 video showed emergency crews surrounding the charred vehicle.

Police say 36-year-old John Warlow, from Hammonton, was killed in the crash.

Westbound travelers were diverted to express lanes as crews worked to clear the scene and assess damage. The roadway has since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
