
WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A firefighter returning from a call was hit by a vehicle outside the firehouse in Wilmington, Delaware.
It happened on Wednesday around 8 p.m. as crews were backing a ladder truck into the Five Points Fire Station on South Maryland Avenue.
The firefighter had just stepped off the truck when he was struck.
He was transported to Christiana Hospital.
The fire chief says the firefighter is in stable condition and in good spirits.
The car did remain on the scene.
The identity of the firefighter has not been released.
