Former Delco assistant fire chief found guilty after racist road-rage incident in Sharon Hill
A judge found a former Delaware County assistant fire chief guilty of ethnic intimidation and related charges.

SHARON HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- A judge found a former Sharon Hill assistant fire chief guilty of ethnic intimidation and related charges.

The ruling came during a bench trial for 48-year-old John Romano.

Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse says Romano confronted a Black woman during a road-rage incident in Darby Township in November of 2024, using racial slurs and threatening to find where she lived.

Romano denied the allegations but admitted making racist comments during a police interview.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 28.
