Human remains possibly found in South Philadelphia basement

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The medical examiner's office is working to determine if human remains were found inside a South Philadelphia basement.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Wharton Street around 5 p.m.

Authorities say the property was being cleaned out when the discovery was made.

Seven suspected human bones have been sent for testing.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Philadelphia police.
