Juilliard pianist returns to Delco middle school special performance

ASTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- Students a a middle school in Aston, Delaware County were treated to a special performance Wednesday morning.

Rhyuhn Green is current pianist and composer at The Juilliard School in New York.

He returned Wednesday morning to where his musical journey began at Northley Middle School in Aston for a special performance.

Green has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk and is one of the youngest Recording Academy/ GRAMMY Voting Members.

The 18-year-old began his musical studies as a toddler, and by 9 years old, he performed as an opener at the Rock Allegiance 2015.

He's mastered the keys, and today Green was hoping to unlock some inspiration for the next generation of students at his old Delaware County middle school.

"I was sitting in these chairs. It can be you and that's the message I'm spreading. It's important to recognize you have the potential and are able," he told students.

After the performance, Green shared his musical journey and had a question and answer session with the students.
