Junkyard fire sends plume of smoke over North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A junkyard fire sent a plume of smoke over North Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 2nd and Indiana streets around 1:30 p.m.

The billowing smoke could be seen from miles away.

There was no word on what caused the fire.

Firefighters quickly placed the blaze under control.
