Killers try to burn car after man shot, killed in Philadelphia's Juniata Park neighborhood: Police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was shot and killed inside a vehicle in Philadelphia's Juniata Park neighborhood. Police say the killers then allegedly tried to burn the SUV before fleeing the scene.

It happened in the back alley behind homes along the 4300 block of Malta Street at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Police say the 45-year-old victim was shot in the back of the head.

Action News has been told surveillance video shows two suspects exiting the vehicle before running off.

The victim's wife contacted police out of concern when he did not pick her up from work, as planned. She then tracked his location to Malta Street.

Detectives are working to figure out why the victim was in that area.
