FISHTOWN (WPVI) -- Lasha Kikvidze opened Kinto to share his culture through food. The restaurant is decorated with letters from the Georgian alphabet and the central area behind the bar is designed to look like the country's capital city Tbilisi.
The BYO features Georgian staples like Khachapuri, a boat shaped bread stuffed with cheese and topped with an egg. There are dumplings and stews that are staples Lasha grew up with before he moved to the United States.
The restaurant features a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Lasha told us many of the dishes from his home country are naturally made in that style.
For dessert they make a special dumpling with sour cherry dough stuffed with farmer's cheese and served warm. Lasha says it's a unique dish to the restaurant and a great way for him to share a little flavor from Georgia.
