'Like a nightmare:' Family remembers 16-year-old killed in Philly crash that injured 5 others
Honesty Hood is described as an outgoing, energetic TikTok lover with big dreams of becoming a cosmetologist.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A grief-stricken Delaware County family is searching for answers after a 16-year-old named Honesty Hood was killed in a car crash early Friday morning on Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia.
Several teens were involved, but Honesty was the only one who didn't survive.
"My daughter had called me, and she said the cops had called her and told her to come to the hospital. I already knew when cops called, it wasn't good news," said Honesty's grandmother, Sahn Hamilton.
The teen is described as an outgoing, energetic TikTok lover with big dreams of becoming a cosmetologist.
Her family says the 10th-grade Chester High School student was with two of her cousins leading up to the fatal crash.
"Two of the girls were her cousins. We didn't know the boys. I totally didn't know the boys," said Hamilton.
"It's hard. We're just trying to get answers. We want to know what happened. Too many stories going around; we just want to know what happened, said the teen's godmother, Kaleshia Hood.
A witness told police the vehicle was getting off on I-95 South at the Washington Avenue exit and was making a sharp curve onto Christopher Columbus Boulevard when it lost control.
Six teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 were inside the Nissan Maxima.

Honesty was one of four sitting in the backseat and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other five all sustained various injuries.
State police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
"Right now, I don't know; it's like a nightmare. I can't accept it right now," said Hamilton.
Hamilton says it's hard to process what has happened.
The family is planning a special candlelight vigil to honor Honesty in her hometown of Chester.
"We went shopping a lot. We go on trips, and cook together, have holidays together and stuff and we're going to totally miss that," said Hamilton.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page for anyone who wants to help with burial costs.
