Accused thief caught on video stuffing 7 lb. bottle of Hennessy down shorts at Delaware liquor store

GREENVILLE, Del. (WPVI) -- An alleged thief was caught on surveillance video, appearing to steal a rather large bottle of booze from a Delaware liquor store.

Video from the Wine and Spirit Company of Greenville shows a man walk right up to a shelf and grab a giant bottle of Hennessy Cognac.

The owner says the man stuffed the seven-pound bottle down his shorts and then casually walked away to browse the rest of the store.

That bottle is worth about $100 dollars, the store owner says.

You may be surprised by this, but it turns out, the store's owner was not.

"It's not the first time, believe it or not," said store owner Bill Galbraith. "We had somebody before shove two of those down their pants -- different bottles but the same size. These criminals are pretty good at it"

After the store posted the video on its Facebook page, it was shared hundreds of times.

The owner said people called in, with many saying they recognized the man and providing his name.

The store's owner passed that name to police, who are now investigating.
