Local youth set the stage for the Pennsylvania Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Today, local youth set the stage to perform their talents.

They rehearsed their skills for the upcoming Pennsylvania Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant.

All participants will be featured in the 2026 Juneteenth Parade, in which 6abc is the Exclusive Broadcast Partner.

"Our scholarship pageant is a platform for young people of color to showcase their talents, their intellect, their passions on stage," said Sonni Graham, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant.

"One of the missions of the Pennsylvania Juneteenth Initiative is to educate the public on...the history of Juneteenth ...what it means to acknowledge your ancestors... and I feel like with the Juneteenth pageant, we are continuing a legacy of making sure our young people are successful," she continued.

The pageant takes place on June 6th, 2026 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center of Philadelphia.

The parade will be held on Father's Day, June 21st 2026, in broadcast partnership with 6abc.
