LOWER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- The Lower Merion School Board approved a new classroom technology policy for students on Monday night.
Starting this school year, students in kindergarten through second grade will not receive individual devices.
Tech use will be limited in grades three and four, with one-to-one devices starting in fifth grade.
The district is also adding a monitoring tool for teachers, as well as expanded website controls for parents.
Parents will also get expanded controls to restrict website categories.
However, they cannot opt out of tech tools entirely.
