The e-scooter rider has been identified as 37-year-old Thomas Joseph Ogorman, according to police


PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is dead after a crash while riding an electric scooter in Philadelphia's Frankford section.
The e-scooter rider has been identified as 37-year-old Thomas Joseph Ogorman, according to police.
It happened at Aramingo Avenue and Margaret Street at 10 p.m. on Thursday.
The force from the collision knocked the rider out of his sneakers.
When police arrived, they found Ogorman lying on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses say the scooter rider ran a red light and collided with a Dodge Charger that had a green light, according to police.
The 22-year-old driving the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department's Crash Investigation Division.
