SMYRNA, Del. (WPVI) -- A man is facing charges after Delaware Animal Services rescued 19 dogs from his home in Smyrna.
Robert O'Neill, 57, is now facing 19 counts of animal cruelty.
Officials say the 17 dogs and two puppies were found living in dilapidated trailers and a swampy shed in terrible conditions.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA is now taking care of the animals.
The shelter says, besides needing exams, the dogs are in good medical condition.
There's no word on when they may be available for adoption.
