Man found shot in the face inside West Philadelphia home

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is hospitalized after being shot in the face in West Philadelphia.

It happened on the 6000 block of Race Street just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the victim was found inside a home there with a gunshot wound to the face.

He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

Authorities say one person was taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
