Man killed after being ambushed by group as he walked home in Philadelphia's Mayfair section: Police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Multiple people ambushed a young man in Philadelphia's Mayfair section, leaving him dead.

It happened in the 4000 block of Gilham Street, just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say multiple people approached the 24-year-old as he was walking into his house.

He was shot in the back and torso, and died at the hospital.

The glass door to the home was shattered in the shooting.

Police have not made any arrests.
