Man shot during parking dispute in Philadelphia's Wissinoming section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A parking spot dispute led to a shooting in Philadelphia's Wissinoming section Monday night.

Police say it happened in the lot of an apartment building in the 5900 block of Jackson Street at 11 p.m.

When police arrived, they made contact with a 28-year-old man who allegedly said he shot another man. He also told police that his firearm was up in his apartment nearby.

He was immediately taken into custody.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was shot once in the leg, according to police.

A witness drove the victim to a nearby fire station for help. From there, he was taken to Jefferson Hospital in stable condition.

A search warrant was executed on the 28-year-old man's apartment, where police recovered a black Ruger Security .380 handgun.

The suspected shooter remains in police custody with charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
