PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Major League Baseball in conjunction with Phillies Charities, Inc. are donating more than $5.5 million to local charities as part of the Legacy Initiative.

Started in 1997, the project leaves a legacy in the hosting city of an All-Star Game.

This year's recipients include the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Veterans Multi-Service Center, Miracle Leagues of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Tree House Books, Ashburn Field at FDR Park and The Philadelphia Stars Negro League Memorial Park.
