Motorcyclist dead after crash involving SUV in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV on Wednesday afternoon in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Ian Patrick Quigg.

The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. in the 6800 block of Henry Avenue.

According to police, Quigg was traveling southbound on Henry Avenue as the driver of an SUV traveling northbound was making a left-hand turn.

The vehicles collided in the intersection. Quigg was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 76-year-old man, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

An investigation into the circumstances of this crash continues.
