New effort in Wilmington aims to help homeless in Christina Park

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wilmington Mayor John Carney announced a new partnership to help manage the influx of unhoused individuals living in Christina Park.

The nonprofit, Friendship House, will provide support services to help those living there move toward a long-term solution.

That includes cleaning and sanitation, and services including job training and mental health counseling.

In October, the park was designated as a place where those experiencing homelessness can live temporarily.
