Construction worker killed after being run over on AC Expressway in Winslow Twp., Camden County

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Action News has learned that a construction worker died from his injuries after being run over by a construction truck on the Atlantic City Expressway in Camden County Friday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the AC Expressway, east of Exit 38, in Winslow Township, New Jersey.

Chopper 6 was over a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway in Camden County Friday morning.

The incident involved a subcontractor for the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the agency told Action News.

Authorities say the truck driver was backing up to pick up cones, and did not know that someone was behind the vehicle.

Officials said there are injuries but it is unclear to what extent.

The name of the victim, only identified as a 31-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township, has not yet been released.

The incident is under investigation.
