PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- We are getting a new look at the future of the historic Wanamaker Building.
New renderings show the owners, TF Cornerstone (TFC), want to divide the former Macy's space on the first three floors into several smaller retail spaces. There would be new entrances to the shopping area in the north and south sections of the 12-story building.

Proposals submitted to the Philadelphia Historical Commission also call for a new rooftop pool on top of the building near City Hall. Earlier this summer, TFC said it was planning to convert a majority of the upper floors into loft apartments.
The building, including the Grand Court and the organ, are protected, and the changes must be approved by the Philadelphia Historical Commission.
TFC told Action News it has partnered with AlterraProperty Group to resurrect original aspects of the building's design.

The plans will be reviewed during a December 16 Architectural Committee meeting.
Construction could begin in the first quarter of 2026 and take approximately 24 months to complete.
