PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It was a big day for new students at Temple University on Tuesday.
The newest crop of Owls, which includes the Class of 2029 and transfers, flooded the North Philadelphia campus to set up their dorm rooms for move-in day.
The university's cheerleaders flanked the walkway outside Morgan Hall to greet the students.
Temple is seeing an uptick in students from the region, as well as out of state. They are even seeing an uptick in international students, despite what has been a time of uncertainty for those coming to universities in the United States from overseas.
"We want everyone to know that they're welcome here in Philadelphia, here with us on Temple's Main Campus, and continue to leverage our network of alumni, and former students, and staff, and faculty, to really make sure folks know that they are welcome here," said Dr. Deanne DeCrescenzo, Associate Dean of Students.
Wednesday is the main move-in day for new students, and Friday is the move-in day for returning students.
Classes will begin on Monday, August 25.
