Construction worker dies after altercation in Roxborough section of Philadelphia: Police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A construction worker is dead following an apparent altercation Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia's Roxborough neighborhood.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Ripka Street.

According to investigators, the worker became involved in an argument with a resident. Police said the worker was later seen walking outside before collapsing on the sidewalk.

Authorities said the 19-year-old victim suffered a chest injury and was pronounced dead.

Investigators are working to determine whether the fatal injury may have been caused by a nail gun or a rifle, according to police.

The resident involved in the dispute is being questioned by officers.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
