Officials in Upper Twp. considering proposal to bring beach tags to Strathmere

UPPER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A Jersey Shore town may soon require tags to access its beaches.

Officials in Upper Township, Cape May County, are considering a proposal to bring beach tags to Strathmere, one of the Jersey Shore's smallest towns.

Under the proposal outlined at a committee meeting this week, summer passes would cost $45.

Daily tags would be $10, and weekly tags would be $20.

A preliminary vote on the proposal is expected on August 24.
