PECO union workers ratify new contract deal

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- PECO union workers have overwhelmingly ratified a new contract deal, that brought an end to the strike that began earlier this month.

Members of IBEW Local 614 approved the agreement with 97-percent support.

The deal includes a cash balance pension plan, full retiree medical coverage, and significant pay raises.

PECO says the new contract will not lead to any immediate increase in customer rates.
