Pedestrian fatally struck by CSX train in Lawndale section of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a CSX train Friday morning.

Chopper 6 was overhead after a pedestrian was struck by a CSX train Friday morning in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia.

It happened just after 10 a.m. in Philadelphia's Lawndale neighborhood.

Philadelphia police say the pedestrian was struck on the tracks near the Levick Street crossing off of Newtown Avenue.

Chopper 6 was overhead as Philadelphia police and CSX employees looked over the scene.

No one on the train was injured.
