Philadelphia Courts warn of text messages alleging fake toll violations

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Courts has issued a fraud alert over text messages alleging fake toll violations.

According to the courts, consumers have been receiving a text message that reads, "Notice of Hearing - Toll Violation".

The message also includes a QR code that offers the chance to resolve the issue through payment.

If you receive one of these texts, ignore it and do not scan the code.

Philadelphia Courts says it never demands payment for any violations through text message.
