PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Rittenhouse Square woman is thanking the first responders who saved her life.

In July, a crew of firefighters and medics rushed to revive 79-year-old Beverly Rubin after she went into cardiac arrest.

Rubin was able to thank them on Tuesday and show her gratitude.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart - literally," she said.

"To see the outcome of all that hard work and training, it means the world to us," said Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Jeffrey Thompson.

The first responders who saved her are now nominated for EMS Workers of the Year.

Rubin also thanked the hospital workers who took such great care of her during recovery.
