Police seek assistance in solving 2023 murder of 80-year-old woman

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Police need your help solving the murder of 80-year-old Rose Goodman.

"Here's an 80-year-old female shot, somebody has to know something, somebody's got to step up to the plate," says Santo Montecalvo, Vice President of the Citizens Crime Commission.

Goodman was found with a gunshot wound to the chest inside her bedroom on the 5700 block of Broomall Street in Southwest Philadelphia back on September 7th, 2023.

Police say that the suspect broke into the home through a basement window.

However, robbery does not appear to be the motive because nothing appeared to be taken.

Devin Goodman/Son: "All I want is for people to remember my mom as she was," says Rose's son, Devin Goodman.

Goodman was well known in her community as a loving mother, grandmother and caretaker.

She loved her church and helped to raise every child on her block.

Police are hoping you can help solve this crime.

"Make a call, remain anonymous, call the tip line at 215-546-tips and if your tip leads to the apprehension and conviction you'll receive a $20,000 reward," says Montecalvo.
