Popular bagel shop announces new location coming to Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A fast-growing bagel chain is getting ready to open its first location in Philadelphia.

The co-owners of Call Your Mother Deli have made their big announcement on social media on Tuesday.

Chefs Daniela Moreira and Andrew Dana say they to open their latest location in the city's Fishtown neighborhood.

The flagship deli opened in Washington D.C. in 2018 and has expanded into more than 20 locations in several states, including Maryland, Virginia, Colorado and Illinois.

The bagels are described as a mix of the classic New York style and the sweeter Montreal-style bagels.

Dana says this Philadelphia location is special for him, as his mother grew up in Mount Airy.

Moreira and Dana say they plan to open the Fishtown shop by spring or early summer.
