
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) -- A 7-year-old boy was bitten on the upper leg over the weekend by a raccoon in New Jersey, according to police.
It happened near Maple Field & Community Garden around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Ridgewood police received another report Sunday around 2:15 p.m. about a "sick-looking raccoon crossing Meadowbrook Avenue."

Police did not release information about the boy's condition. Animal Control was notified.
Residents are being told not to feed, approach or handle wild animals. If you are bitten or scratched by a wild animal, seek medical attention immediately and notify the police department.
They should also supervise their kids outside, keep pets on a leash and report animals acting strange or aggressive.
