Saint Joseph's University names new athletic director

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Saint Joseph's University has named a new Vice President and Director of Athletics.

Coaches, student athletes, and university leadership were on hand on Monday to welcome Ash Puri to their community.

Puri brings more than 2 decades of experience in collegiate and professional sports.

He's held leadership positions at Villanova University and the University of California Berkeley.

In Puri's new role, he will lead a division comprising approximately 500 student-athletes across 21 NCAA Division I men's and women's varsity programs.
