Sea Isle City hosts guided beachcombing tours to educate vacationers

SEA ISLE CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- During your shore vacation, you can join in on a beloved tradition.

Sea Isle City hosts weekly "beachcombing" tours during the summer.

It's all for free, and led by a dedicated group of volunteers.

People of all ages can learn about unique things hidden in the sand.

"I hope that everyone who comes to one of our tours learn something about the environment, and most importantly, learns how they... can help protect our environment and especially our dunes and our beaches," said Coordinator, Sue Williamson.

"We are here on Tuesday mornings at 10:00am at the Promenade and 29th Street, and Thursdays at the Townsend Inlet Waterfront Park at 10 a.m.Our tours run about an hour and we're here through Labor Day weekend, so we're always happy for donations, but it's absolutely free," she continued.
