Man killed in head-on crash with tractor-trailer on Rt. 55 in Mantua Twp., Gloucester County

MANTUA TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Route 55 in Gloucester County is back open Tuesday after being shut down because of a head-on crash that left one person dead.

Police say it happened in the southbound lanes around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, near Route 322, in Mantua Township.

Chopper 6 was over the scene, where you could see a damaged pickup truck and a tractor trailer.

Authorities say the driver of that pickup truck, identified as 25-year-old Favian Cruz, from Bridgeton, was killed.

The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries

Route 55 was shut down until 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
