This week's winning rescue group in 6abc's Shelter Me contest is the Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania is dedicated to saving unwanted and forgotten animals in high kills shelters...
President, Erika Mako, "It's important to pull from the high kill shelters because they have a little bit of a window of time to be there if they're not pulled then they'll get euthanize.
The rescue operates solely as a foster network.
"The more fosters we have then the more animals that can be saved and moved onto forever homes," said Mako.
In the ten years that the rescue has been operating they managed to save around 3000 unwanted animals...
Mako says, "The importance of rescue and foster is to help animals that are treated inhumanely And help them find better homes than what they were living."
