PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Three people are recovering after Philadelphia police said an upset neighbor shot them during a dispute over fireworks. Officials say another neighbor also returned fire during the altercation Tuesday.

It happened just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1600 block of N. Newkirk St. at Oxford St. in the city's Brewerytown section.

Police said more than a dozen shots were fired after someone came out of their house and started arguing with three people who were setting off fireworks.

That neighbor who was upset shot those people, and then another neighbor came outside and returned fire, striking a house.

A 21-year-old woman was shot in the knee, a 23-year-old was shot in the back and a 53-year-old man was shot in the chest, according to police.

The victims were taken to Temple Hospital. There has been no word on their conditions.

No word yet on any arrests or charges.
