WOODBURY, NEW JERSEY (WPVI) - - With snow falling across South Jersey, many residents were navigating the wintry conditions.
Sheleena Sampson was out with her 9-year-old daughter when she noticed just how tricky the roads had become.
"The road conditions are extremely slippery," said Sampson.
She says even a short drive requires extra patience and caution.
"Keeping a safe distance between me and other yes, I want to protect me and protect them," said Sampson.
Across South Jersey, the snow continued to pile up. In Mullica Hill, roads and rooftops were blanketed in white. Ashantay Williams says she was out delivering food earlier as the snow started coming down.
"The worse the snow got the more the orders started coming in," said Ashantay Williams, of West Deptford.
But as temperatures dropped, conditions quickly went downhill, and she decided it wasn't worth the risk.
"But my car's having a little bit of problems so it's not safe for me to drive in this weather condition," said Ashantay Williams, of West Deptford.
And it wasn't just her car, she says the roads themselves became increasingly dangerous.
"I can feel myself slipping and sliding on the roads it's getting a little bit dangerous," said Williams.
"It's just really worrying about other drivers," said Laura Sierocinski, West Deptford.
While safety may be a concern for adults, kids were thrilled with the conditions..
"The snow you can like make snow angels and make snowmen it's so much fun," said Sariyah Roberson, of Woodbury.
But not all adults were bothered by the snowfall. Earlier today in Roxborough, we found one man braving the outdoors in slides.
"I didn't have any clean socks, so I got detergent so we're all good," said Ray Schoonmaker, of Roxborough.
Experts remind drivers to slow down and be extra cautious, especially when you see wet spots on the road, as they could be black ice.
