"Toy Story 5" is hitting theaters, and along with our favorite characters from the storied franchise, we meet a brand new one named "Blaze."

The character is played by South Jersey's teen superstar Mykal-Michelle Harris.

"It was loud, but it was a crazy time in our house," laughed Mykal-Michelle Harris, as she recalls the moment she got the call. "My mom gets off the phone, and she turns to me, and she says, 'You are going to be in Toy Story 5.' And we all just started screaming."

Harris has been in showbiz since she was 3-years old.

She's now 14 and making her mark.

Harris joined the ABC/Disney family in 2019 with her breakout role in the abc sitcom "Mixed-ish."

From Disney Channel's "Raven's Home" to feature films and to the voice of Disney Jr.'s "Ariel," the Emmy award winner is now entering the Toy Story legacy.

"It's absolutely surreal," Harris says. "Being able to be a part of such an amazing legacy, it's just been an amazing experience for me."

Harris is the voice of Blaze, a character you'll have to wait to meet on the big screen.

"She's one of the coolest 9-year-olds I've ever met, and I think it's because she's so brave and she loves animals, and she's always herself," she explains.

Disney/Pixar has been breaking the animation mold since the first Toy Story film premiered in 1995.

And they're doing it again with Blaze, who is Black and Armenian.

"They invented new technology for my hair," says Harris. "I think that is just so impactful. It's so amazing."

Harris knows that impact well.

"I just love that I'm in this position and I have a platform where I can share representation across the TV screen," she says. "I think that that's so cool."

"Toy Story 5" hits theaters on June 19.
